Sam’s Weird Afternoon
by Sally Gilchrest-Unrau
Sam’s Weird Afternoon is a children’s picture book for young children. It is a whimsical story about a boy named Sam who comes home from school one day, just as he does every other day , kicks off his shoes just like his mom asks… and strange things begin to occur. When he takes off his shoes this day another pair magically appear. Each time he removes them, another pair are on his feet. Sam does not know what to do but after he becomes confused, gets upset and begins to cry…he finally…suprisingly to himself, gets control of the situation. Sam is so glad when it is all over and is especially glad his mom never found out. This story, written in rhyme , will appeal to both children and adults alike .

A delightful book. I bought some for all my small fry friends. Holds their interest with humor and rhyme. It does have a Dr. Seuss-like rhythm. Lots to look at in the illustrations, which is important for non-reading lap kids, being read to by parents or older siblings. A fine addition to the family bookshelf.
“Sam’s Weird Afternoon” is the most adorable and engaging little story that kids will ask you to read over and over again. And if you’re a Dr. Seuss lover, you will find the author’s style absolute perfection, and the illustrations charming and captivating. Order a copy for all the kids you know!
